Kate incorporates fabrics and tapestries from all over the world into the environments that Mishkhah creates, adding texture and beauty. She uses found objects, including ancient crosses, coins, carved wooden remnants and small iron windows, to hold votives and adorn prayer stations. People are invited to reflect on questions, quotations, portions of the Scriptures and icons. Projected images and ambient lighting on scrim, fabric, walls, ceilings and towers have a powerful and moving effect on the worship space. The images include pictures of nature, mosaics, icons, people and places from all over the world. All of this is crafted to support the theme and Scripture readings of each season so that those who come can enter into the stories through interaction, movement and contemplation.
